To Be Or Not To Be

My Lucas, today the focus is on you. You are so smart and so brave. Though so young you always thought of yourself as “the man of the house”. You wanted so bad to be a grown up, but I wanted you to enjoy your childhood. You always tried to protect everyone. That was not your job and I don’t want you to ever feel like you didn’t do enough. Your job was to be a kid.

You have always been extremely smart and scientific. I hope that that is fostered in you always. I hope that you are encouraged to work on the subjects you have trouble with, but more important I hope that you are encouraged to push yourself in the subjects that you excel in already. You can go so far in life.

I am so sorry that I couldn’t help you with what you asked me to help with the other day. I would have liked nothing more than to scoop you up and take you home. Don’t think that I just ignored your request for help I am working on it.

I’ve always been proud of your caring sweet nature. There is nothing wrong with being a caring boy. Caring boys grow up to be caring men. No matter what anyone tells you there is nothing wrong with that. Playing with your siblings, liking pink, and taking care of dolls are all ok. That will not “make you gay”.

However if you do end up being gay for some other reason that will be fine with me. I will always love you no matter what. I’d much rather you be gay than an abuser. That goes for all of you boys and my girls too. I’d rather you play with dolls than make-up being a mom is better than being a promiscuous idiot. None of these things are things you guys should be worried about at the age you are now. When you are old enough to read this I hope that these points are void.

I love you all and always will no matter what. Hope you all stay strong till we work this out.

Love always,

Mommy
